Project 2: Master Closet

The master closet was bit of a disaster.   Not only was it [mostly] green, but the storage was not much more than a broken tower of particleboard.

The armoire is set atop a rogue piece of wood selving, which sits atop a double drawer.  These pieces have rubberized drawer liners layered between them to prevent the stack from sliding around.  Two of these stacks exist with a piece of shelving connecting them together, and a few drywall anchors connecting the shelf to the wall being the only thing keeping this pile from falling over.  Some sound engineering to be sure.

Needless to say, it all had to go.  Custom closet: designed and installed.  Plus now I have now aquired hacksaw mastery level 1!

Project 1: New Floors

The first project for our new home:  chuck the carpet in the bedrooms and run hardwood all the way, then take it dark!  We only have 3 days in order to get it done before moving in, so we had to call in the pros for this one.

Work begins

Hardwood down and mostly sanded.

Done!

Molecular Egg

First attempt at spherification - the molecular egg.  A fresh mango "yolk" atop vanilla yogurt "whites."

The yolk bathed a little too long and wasn't as "runny" as was intended.
